Ó Coisdealbha, Seán

Biographical Note

Ó Coisdealbha (Costello, Costelloe), Seán (John) (c.1848-?): Seán Ó Coisdealbha was born in Moneygold, Grange, county Sligo, around 1848. He attended Benbulben National School, county Sligo. His father was a farmer and he himself was a shopkeeper. He lived in Moneygold until he was 33, and then lived in England and Wales for 25 years. This would mean that he returned to Grange around 1906. A John Costello is recorded living in Aughagad, near Grange, in the census of 1911 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003254401/] and is described as a farmer. There was a shopkeeper in Grange at the same time by the name of John Costelloe [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003254001/]; perhaps they were related.
