Biographical Note

Ó Scolaí (Ó Sgolaí, Scully), Séamas (James, Jacobus) (1868-?): Séamas Ó Scolaí was born in Crossterry, Glengarriff, county Cork, on 21 April 1868. His parents were Jeremiah Scully and Catherine Sullivan. Both he and his father were farmers. He received no formal education. He lived in Crossterry throughout his life, except for periods he spent in Wales as an adult. He married his wife, Julia, around 1902. They had three daughters and one son in 1911.
