Ó Droma, Seán

Biographical Note

Ó Droma (Ó Dromma, Drummy), Seán (c.1904-?): Seán Ó Droma was born in Ring, county Waterford, around 1904, and he was living there with his family for the census of 1911 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003478871/]. He attended primary school locally. His father was a farmer and fisherman and Seán was a mechanic at the time of the recording. Doegen recorded two songs from Seán: ‘Róisín Dubh’ and ‘Bríd Gheal Bhán’. The latter does not survive as the wax matrix was destroyed en route to Germany and no shellac disc was manufactured.
