Biographical Note
Mac Meanman (Mac Meanaman, MacMenamin, Mac Meanmain, McManmon, McManamon), Pádraig (Pádraic, Patrick) (1856-1946): Pádraig Mac Meanman was born in An Ceann Garbh, Claggan, Ballycroy, county Mayo, on April 9, 1856, and lived there for his whole life. He was educated at Drumgollagh National School, county Mayo. He was the eldest son of Peadar Mac Meanaman and, like his father, he was a farmer. He married Mary Ní Ghallchobhair in 1884. He was living with her and their children during the censuses of 1901 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001102474/] and 1911 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003034427/]. Twelve children had been born to them by 1911, eleven of whom had survived. Pádraig died on February 9, 1946.
