Translation

There was a man and he had two sons. The youngest man said to his father one day, "Father, give me what is due to me of the inheritance." The father divided it between them. And a few days after that the younger son went and gathered together his possessions and he went to another land far away overseas. And he spent his wealth generously and extravagantly.

When he had spent everything there arose a great famine in the country and he began to be in want. He went to see one of the men of the country and he made an arrangement with him. He sent him out feeding pigs. And he wanted to eat some of the pigs' pods. He thought to himself and said to himself, there are many paid servants in my father's house eating bread and I am here cold and hungry. I will get up and go see my father and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and in front of God. Take me as one of your servants."

He got up and came to see his father. The father saw him coming. He ran towards him and he hugged him around the neck and he kissed him. He told a serv-... The son said, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy of being called your son."

The father said, "Bring to me quickly the best suit. We will put it on him. We will put a ring on his finger and we will put shoes on his feet. Bring over the fatted calf and we will kill it. And we will eat it happily. And... because my son was dead... he... and he came to life. He was lost and he was found."

There was... They ate a fine satisfying meal. And the elder son who was out in the field, he came in the evening to the house and he heard the music and dance. He asked one of the servants what the meaning of all this was.

"Your brother came home and your father killed the fatted calf for him. And they ate an enjoyable meal together."

He became angry and he wouldn't go in. His father came out and pleaded with him to come in. And he said, "Father, I am with you all these years and I never broke the commandments. And you never even gave me a kid-goat that I could enjoy with my friends. Your son who came home after spending all he had on worthless things, you killed the fatted calf and (...)."
