Biographical Note

Ó Corcráin (Corcoran), Tomás (Thomas) (c.1846-?): Tomás Ó Corcráin, farmer, was born in Bohadoon, county Waterford, around 1846. He attended primary school locally. He married Johana Corcoran around 1897 and they had four sons and three daughters. They were living in Bohadoon during the censuses of 1901 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001247032/] and 1911 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003479100/]. Material collected from him by Nioclás Breathnach and Pádraig Ó Milléadha is housed in the National Folklore Collection, UCD. Nioclás Breathnach has a short account in his diary of the first time he met Tomás (2/3/1936), which is in the National Folklore Collection also.
